These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the mobile lawnmower blade sharpening and related services provided by Mobile Lawnmower Blade Sharpening (“Mobile Lawnmower Blade Sharpening”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) within the Province of Manitoba, Canada.
By booking, requesting, or receiving any service from Mobile Lawnmower Blade Sharpening, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and by any policies referenced in them.
Service provider: Mobile Lawnmower Blade Sharpening (operating in Manitoba, Canada)
Jurisdiction: Province of Manitoba and applicable laws of Canada
Last updated: 30 March 2026
These Terms are intended to comply with the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Manitoba, including applicable consumer protection, contract, and privacy legislation. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any rights you may have that cannot be limited under those laws.
PrairieEdge provides mobile sharpening for lawnmower blades and, from time to time, other small outdoor equipment cutting edges (the “Services”) at customer locations within designated service areas in Manitoba. Availability may vary by municipality and season.
You may use the Services only if you are (a) at least the age of majority in Manitoba (18 years old) or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, and (b) capable of entering into a binding contract under the laws of Manitoba and Canada. If you are booking on behalf of a business or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2.1 Booking and confirmations. Bookings may be made online, by phone, or through any other method we may offer. A booking is not confirmed until we send you a confirmation message. We reserve the right to decline or reschedule a booking in our discretion, acting reasonably (for example, due to unsafe conditions, weather, or overbooking).
2.2 Safe access and work area. You are responsible for providing a safe, lawful, and reasonably accessible area for our technicians to perform the Services, including adequate lighting, clearance, and, where applicable, access to electrical power. We may refuse or discontinue Services if, in our reasonable opinion, conditions are unsafe or could cause damage to property, equipment, or persons.
2.3 Condition of equipment. You remain responsible for the overall condition, maintenance, and safe operation of your lawnmower and equipment. Our Services are limited to sharpening and related adjustments. We may decline to service blades or equipment that appear cracked, bent, excessively worn, contaminated (for example, with fuel leaks), or otherwise unsafe, and we may recommend replacement instead of sharpening.
3.1 Pricing. Unless otherwise stated, all prices are in Canadian dollars and, where applicable, are subject to Manitoba and federal taxes. We will disclose prices, fees, and applicable taxes before you confirm your booking, in accordance with applicable consumer protection and disclosure requirements in Manitoba.
3.2 Payment. Payment is due at the time of service unless we agree otherwise. We may accept cash, debit, credit card, electronic transfer, or other payment methods as communicated to you. You authorize us or our third-party payment processors to charge your selected payment method for all amounts due, including applicable taxes and any agreed call-out or cancellation fees.
3.3 Cancellations and rescheduling. We understand that plans can change. To help us operate efficiently, we may apply a reasonable cancellation or call-out fee for late cancellations or no-shows where permitted by Manitoba law. Where such a fee applies, we will disclose the amount and applicable cancellation window at the time of booking. We will act fairly and reasonably in applying any such fees.
4.1 Standard of service. We will perform the Services in a careful, competent, and workmanlike manner, consistent with generally accepted sharpening practices and applicable safety standards. We do not guarantee specific cutting performance results, as results depend on many factors outside our control, including mower condition, cutting height, grass type, and use and storage conditions.
4.2 Inspection and acceptance. You agree to inspect the work at the time of service and to raise any concerns promptly. If you are not satisfied, please tell the technician on site or contact us as soon as reasonably possible. Subject to applicable Manitoba and Canadian law, our responsibility will generally be limited to, at our option, re-performing the Service or providing a refund of the amount paid for the affected Service.
4.3 No modification of statutory rights. To the extent required by law, we do not exclude, limit, or disclaim any warranties, conditions, or guarantees that cannot legally be excluded or limited under the laws of Manitoba or Canada, including certain implied conditions and warranties under consumer protection legislation. Any limitations of liability or warranty in these Terms apply only to the extent permitted by those laws.
We will perform the Services in a manner intended to comply with applicable occupational health and safety, transportation, environmental, and fire safety laws and regulations in Manitoba and, where applicable, federal law. You agree not to request or permit us to perform any work that would breach applicable laws, regulations, or by-laws (for example, working in prohibited areas, storage of fuel in unsafe locations, or disposing of waste contrary to local rules).
To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Manitoba and Canada, and subject always to any rights you may have that cannot lawfully be limited:
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for any matter that cannot be limited or excluded under the laws of Manitoba or Canada, including liability for gross negligence where such exclusion is not permitted.
We collect, use, and disclose personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws in Manitoba and Canada, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), where applicable, and any substantially similar provincial legislation. We will only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide the Services, process payments, manage our relationship with you, and comply with our legal obligations.
We may provide a separate privacy notice that explains in more detail how we handle personal information. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and a specific privacy notice regarding privacy matters, the privacy notice will govern to the extent of the conflict.
If you use our website or any online booking or messaging tools, you agree to use them in a lawful manner and in accordance with any additional terms posted there. We may send you service-related communications (such as booking confirmations, reminders, and updates) by email, SMS, phone, or other methods you provide. Where required by Canadian anti-spam and telemarketing legislation, we will obtain appropriate consent and provide opt-out mechanisms for marketing communications.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, our practices, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where feasible, provide additional notice (for example, by email or on our website). Your continued use of the Services after any changes take effect will constitute your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Services and contact us to resolve any outstanding matters.
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to them or to the Services will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Manitoba, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules that would result in the application of the laws of another jurisdiction.
Where permitted by applicable law, you and PrairieEdge agree to try to resolve disputes informally first. If we cannot resolve a dispute through good-faith negotiations within a reasonable time, either party may pursue available remedies before the courts of Manitoba, which will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over such disputes. This section does not restrict any rights you may have to bring a claim before a consumer protection body or small claims court where permitted under Manitoba or Canadian law.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with any booking confirmation and any additional policies or documents expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and PrairieEdge regarding the subject matter and supersede all prior understandings or agreements, whether written or oral, relating to the Services.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court or regulator of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
No waiver. Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer our rights or obligations in connection with a business reorganization, merger, or sale of assets, provided that such assignment does not reduce your rights under applicable Manitoba or Canadian law.
If you have any questions about these Terms, how they apply, or your rights under the laws of Manitoba and Canada, you can contact Mobile Lawnmower Blade Sharpening using the contact details provided on our website. We encourage you to seek independent legal advice if you require assistance interpreting your rights and obligations.
